Martin Miklas is an award-winning conceptual documentary and fine-art photographer based in Lisbon, originating from Bratislava, Slovakia. Recognized as a visual storyteller and a master of "deepest darks," Martin's work delves into the profound impacts of climate change and biodiversity crises on the ocean. His lens captures the intricate socio-economic and ecological consequences affecting the fishing industry, spanning from Earth to cosmos and beyond.

An alumnus of the prestigious 2022-23 VII Photo Masterclass, Martin is a dedicated father of two, and his skills have been further honed through participation in the Visual Storytelling Masterclass by The Raw Society.

Distinguished for his unique perspective, Martin is currently immersed in a long-term documentary project initially focused on the fishing industry, with an emphasis on Sardines in Portugal. His ambitious plans involve extending this narrative to encompass neighbouring countries and various species.
